Main Street 5K & Superhero Sprint

This annual event in the Fall, includes activities for kids and serious runners- plus post race awards and celebration. Children from 2-12 can dress up as their favorite heroes and sprint down the center of Main Street. The first kids registered get a free cape.  Challenge yourself with a run from the parks, to the greenway, to Main Street and beyond in beautiful downtown Mocksville. This event celebrates and supports many of our local superheroes (front line workers) who help keep our community healthy, safe and thriving!

Tour of Farmington

This is an annual event held in September. You can chose from four different routes for your ride.

Activities/Amenities:  13-mile, 23-mile, 43-mile and 63-mile rides, Complimentary Breakfast and Lunch, T-shirts, On-route SAG Support and Rest Stops, All Rides Begin and End at Farmington Community Events Center

NC Cycling Rendezvous

This is an annual event held in the Spring and hosted by Farmington Community Events Center.

Amenities/Activites: four fully supported rides to choose from.- 7-63 miles! Breakfast and lunch included, register online.

The Yadkin Pee Dee River Trail & River Access

This 125 mile state paddling trail includes multiple put-in and take-out areas in Davie County for easy access to the river.

Hwy 801 Access is located between Lancelot Lane and Deadmon Rd. in Mocksville, NC 27028 and is maintained by the NC Wildlife Commission.

Amenities: gravel lot parking area, handicap space, no facilities

Tanglewood Access is located at 172 River Hill Dr, Advance, NC 27006 and is maintained by the Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department.

Distance to the next access point is 16.7 miles including mandatory portage.

‘Twas the Night Before Bed Race

This unique event is hosted by the Mocksville Tourism Authority and is held on the Friday night before Thanksgiving each year. Bed racers compete for prizes and glory.

Farmington Nature Park – Pump Track

The Farmington Nature trails are perfect for biking. The Mountain Bike Pump Track is available daily from dawn to dusk. While you are there, touch grass on shady trails full of native wildlife and plants or visit the pollinator garden.

Activities/Amenities:  hiking and biking trails, fishing, mountain biking, family biking, walking track, nature park with wildlife and native plants. Parking is available in the gravel lot near the baseball field and tennis courts, disc golf, community center with facilities.

The Great Bullhole Duck Race & Family Festival

This unique annual event celebrates and supports RiverPark at Cooleemee Falls. Participants can compete to win prizes by purchasing a ticket to race a duck. It’s a full day of family fun.

Independence Celebration

The annual Independence celebration at the Davie County Community Park includes an extravagant fireworks display, outdoor concerts, and food trucks.
