Get Outside
You’ve heard this one before, but it may surprise you to learn how many interesting outdoor activities are available in Davie County, NC. Play a round of golf on one of our premier courses or hit our walking and biking trails at the new Davie County Community Park or Farmington Nature Park. Or take a shady stroll at Rich Park in the downtown area of Mocksville.
If you are a sports fan, the boys of summer are likely playing a game at Mando Field, so go ahead and cheer them on to victory.

Make a Splash
Enjoy the water at the most colossal Vortex Splashpad in North Carolina, It’s right here at the shiny new Davie Community Park. Make time for an adventure kayaking on the Yadkin or some leisurely tubing at Cooleemee’s RiverPark. Outdoor adventures like these make us worth the short trip.
Old Favorites
Nab some of your favorite foods this summer. It’s not hard to tell that our local restaurants and food trucks specialize in unique foods, southern favorites, and comfort foods with a twist. Try the hushpuppies at Deano’s, the deep-fried pickles at Restaurant 101, the Irish specialties at O’Callahan’s Publick House, or authentic Japanese cuisine at Shiki’s.
Try Something New
Change can be fun. There are loads of ideas here for places to visit, foods to sample, and events. These are all opportunities to do something you have never done before.
Eat Cake
Life is too short to skip dessert, so don’t do it. Try a fantastic dessert at Mountaintop Cheesecakes, Maddies Cakes, or Ketchie Creek bakery – find even more places to have dessert.
Wine Down
Relax with a glass of wine at one of our local vineyards. On any weekend, you are likely to find beautiful scenery, live music, and a refreshing glass of Chardonnay at Raylen, Misty Creek, or Lazy Elm vineyards and wineries.

Speaking of Tunes
Spend some quality family time out and about. The Concerts on the Square in Mocksville will get your toes tapping. You may also want to drop into The Station. There is something for everyone there. Littles will dig playing in the sandpit and grown-ups, the firepit, and the Taproom.
Everyone will benefit from the fresh air, cornhole games, trivia nights, or the lively music that kickstarts each weekend. Every member of the clan is welcome to hang out at the Station, even your four-legged family members.
Cool Off
While you are at the Station, have a super fun flavored Snowball, or head next door for dreamy ice cream treats at Scoops.
Make It a Girl’s Night Out
Set up a vintage Tea Time with Mrs. Laura in beautiful historic Farmington or head downtown to enjoy drinks or an iced drink at The Factory Coffeehouse. Grab some R&R at a spa or wellness center like Bella Mia and The Eclectic Healing Room.
Family Time
If movies are your jam, you and your kiddos won’t want to miss the outdoor Movies in the Park in downtown Mocksville or the Drive-in movies at the Davie Community Park. Make the summer unforgettable and get a family picture taken in an outdoor setting like a field of sunflowers. The natural light and a good photographer will make everyone look amazing.
Get Hands-on and Creative
Take an art class at Artist Market or at Wild Mountain Designs & Art. Gear up for active learning at Cognition, an interactive museum where you can play, learn and create.
There’s No Place Like Home
We are all spending more time at home, so why not make your home the place you want it to be. Shop for comfy furniture and homey touches at Bizzy Bees, Meg Brown, Southern Mood, Vintage Sunflower, Sandra’s Treasures.
Stay inside and have a family game night. Order a pizza at Tanglewood Pizza, Marcos, or Village Inn Pizza and pull out the board games, puzzles, and card games.
The Simple Life
We all want to simplify, declutter, organize, and eat healthier. An easy way to add healthier choices to our meals is to shop for homemade and handcrafted goods and fresh fruits and veggies at the Mocksville and Bermuda Run Farmer’s Markets.
Then take a road trip – drive the country roads and stop in at the Advance Country Store for a taste of the small-town life and a cold drink on a warm summer day.
What all of the activities on our top 20 list have in common is that they are really all about making meaningful memories.
We hope we gave you some ideas for making your own fun before these amazing days of summer end. You can find directions and more information about the places we mentioned by clicking on the pages here on our website.
